This research study sought to investigate the grade configuration of Texas elementary schools along with an analysis of the policies affecting grade configurations. Upon receipt of a demographic data set from the Texas Education Agency, the researcher determined that out of 2, 069 Texas school districts, 90 percent were configured in the K-5 organizational pattern, while 10 percent of the schools had another configuration. Using a four dimension conceptual policy framework, recommendations were made for the analysis and implementation of grade configuration policies in local school districts. In its origin this study sought to use a correlational analysis of the data.
